What are the driver requirements?

All drivers need to be between 25-70 years
Had their licence over 2 years
No more than 6 points (2 x 3 points)
For more points or MS90, IN10, CU80 offences and other endorsements, the decision is at the discretion of our insurance company

What do I need to bring to pick up the van?

When collecting the van, we need to see the following:
Driver’s licence card
2 x proof of addresses (dated within 3 months)
DVLA code / PDF print out or National Insurance number
And of course your payment card

How long can I hire a van for?

Our vans are hired out in blocks of 24 hours with collections between 8.30am-4pm (Mon- Thurs). 8.30-10am Fridays.
Saturday collections are 8.30am to 10.30am.
You may be able to drop the van off earlier out of hours if you are finished with it (with authorisation)

How can I pay and do I need to pay a deposit?

We take card payments but we not take Amex
We also accept bank transfers before collection.
We only ask for a van deposit for weekend bookings, which is £50 and comes off the final figure
There is £250 deposit required for the car hire

Can I take the van abroad?

None of our vans are allowed out of the UK

Can I leave my car with you?

All our sites have free parking spaces.
You are obviously doing so at your own risk as we cannot accept any liability

Am I liable for parking or penalties?

It is your responsibility to pay for any tickets or penalties, including congestion charges etc.
If a penalty does come through, we provide the requested information to the authority who will contact you direct.
We will charge an administration fee for each penalty

It is the hirers responsibility to ensure that (if an additional driver has been authorised) they keep a log so that there can be no doubt as to who is driving the vehicle should a penalty come through.

Are your vans tracked?

Yes, all our vehicles have trackers in them.
You may get alerts from us if speeding occurs or late returns
If you are a company hiring our vans, we can provide you with driver scores to see how they are driving to use as direct evidence to reduce fuel costs etc.

What happens in an event of an accident?

If you have an accident you must not admit responsibility.
You should get the names and addresses of everyone involved, including witnesses.
As long as you can, take as many photos as possible, showing vehicles involved with number plates, damage, location and surroundings
You should also: -Make the van secure, Tell the police straight away if anyone is injured or there is a disagreement over who is responsible and call our office straight away
You will be asked to complete our accident report form and return to us asap for insurance purposes

What happens if I put the wrong fuel in the van?

Please make sure you are aware of the correct fuel for your vehicle before departing our offices.
If you do accidentally put the wrong fuel in, unfortunately there is a £300 charge and any further charges apply if the vehicle needs mechanical assistance afterwards

What vehicles can I drive on my licence?

All our vehicles can be driving on a Category B car licence

Can another person drive the van?

We can organise a 2nd driver but at the extra charge of £15, we would need their driver license details to add them.

Can I just have the van for one day over the weekend?

We hire vans out for either 24 or 48 hours over the weekend. You do not have to have it for the 48 hours only.

What is the insurance excess?

Our insurance excess is £1000
We are unable to reduce this amount but you can provide your own excess cover

Does the van come with a full tank of diesel?

Our vans are supplied with approx ¼ tank of diesel
It is up to yourselves to bring the vehicle back the same fuel as it went out.
We are not able to refund fuel if bought back with more than it was collected with.

What if I don’t have a UK Licence?

We accept EU driving licences for UK residents but require 2 proof of address and passport
For other locations, please call us to check with our insurance company

Can the vehicle go into congestion charge / ULEZ zones?

It is the hirers responsibility to check and pay for any congestion charge or ULEZ areas
Please check your vehicle details on the day
If you fail to do so and we receive the penalty notice, an admin fee will be charged

What happens if the van breaks down or has a puncture?

All our vans are AA covered with “Onward Travel” included in the price
Contact details will be on your hire agreement

Can I take my dog in the van

We don’t mind your 4 legged friend coming along for the ride but do ask that a blanket is put on both the bottom and the back of the seats.
If excessive hair is left on return and it needs further valeting than normal, an extra fee may be charged
We like to keep the van clean for our next customers.

What is your cancellation policy?

We understand circumstances change (especially in housemoves) we just ask for as much notice as possible.
For weekend bookings, we do ask for 48 hours notice for cancellation so we can get your £50 deposit back, else it is kept.
